Welcome To Wallowa River RV Park The RV park is located on the eastside outskirts of Wallowa, Oregon. Wallowa is the first little community you come to on Highway 82 as you enter the beautiful Wallowa Valley.

The Grande Ronde Wild and Scenic River is a popular multi-day trip. The river flows out of the second highest peaks in Oregon, the Wallowas.

The river canyon is formed by volcanic activity with lava flows solidifying into layers of basalt ledges. The long season, mixed with excellent scenery, abundant camps, and mellow whitewater make it a top choice for many.

Backpacking Oregon - This book is an excellent resource for the Wallowa River Loop and many other backpacking trips around Oregon.

I highly recommend picking this book up if you like backpacking around the PNW. It’s got great play-by-play descriptions of this trail and is very useful when planning out camping locations and side trips. “Healing The Big River” comes to Wallowa, on Saturday, March 14 at 3 p.m. at Wallowa City Hall.

Wallowa River Spring Steelhead Fishing Season is Finally Here. Well we have broken the seal on the Wallowa River Steelhead Fishery for the Spring Season. Tom, Mike and Cam went down to fish the Wallowa for the afternoon on Sunday this past weekend.

The 10 miles of the Wallowa River below Minam is the start of the roadless stretch of the Wallowa and Grande Ronde Rivers between Minam and Powwatka Bridge and is done as part of a 3, 4, or 5 day trip where we fish both the Wallowa and Grande Ronde Rivers on.

The Wallowa River is a tributary of the Grande Ronde River, approximately 55 miles (89 km) long, in northeastern Oregon in the United drains a valley on the Columbia Plateau in the northeast corner of the state north of Wallowa Mountains. The river begins at the confluence of its east and west forks, which rise in southern Wallowa County, in the Eagle Cap Wilderness of the Wallowa Mouth: Grande Ronde River.

Wallowa Lake and the Wallowa River. Ab years ago, a visitor (had there been one) to what was to become Wallowa County would have found, not a shimmering blue lake, but instead a rugged wall of rock and gravel embedded ice.

This was the melting edge of a glacier extending back into the upper Wallowa mountains.
